What data sources does Product Spy use?
Product Spy combines 4 layers: Facebook Ad Library (free Meta API), TikTok Ad Library (via SearchAPI.io), Google autocomplete for organic trend signals, and TCD’s own schema/SEO audit engine for competitor store analysis. Facebook and TCD audits are free. TikTok requires an optional API key.
How accurate are the revenue estimates?
Revenue estimates are derived from ad longevity signals and product prices found in competitor schema markup. They are range-based estimates, not exact figures. An ad running 60+ days with active spend indicates profitability, but actual revenue depends on conversion rates, traffic sources, and many other factors. We show a low/mid/high range with an explicit confidence level.
What does the Momentum Score measure?
The Momentum Score (0–100) combines 5 signals: Facebook ad longevity (35 pts), ad volume (20 pts), TikTok presence (20 pts), organic search trend (15 pts), and competitor SEO gap opportunity (10 pts). A score of 80+ means the product has strong ad validation and organic interest with exploitable SEO gaps.
Why is the competitor store URL optional?
You can research a product keyword alone to see ad intelligence and organic trends. Adding a competitor store URL unlocks additional analysis: schema grade, rich results gaps, Shopify detection, product pricing, and revenue estimation. For best results, include the URL of the store running the ads you saw.
